Eligible J-1 graduate students planning to engage in degree-related research outside of California will be eligible to maintain their J-1 status through registration in absentia.
To request Dashew Center approval for your Registration In Absentia, please complete the In Absentia Request form from the Graduate Division and obtain your departmental signatures before requesting a signature from the Dashew Center. Once you have received the appropriate signatures from your department, please email the form to dcissj1unit@saonet.ucla.edu.
